Keaton Publications Group The Past, Present and Future
The Past
Keaton Publications Group (KPG) was founded 42 years ago by Charles and Barbara Keaton. Their first product, The Birmingham-Bloomfield Community Directory (1965), was a reference guide for the area in Southeast Michigan where they lived. Over the years, as their capabilities expanded and new opportunities arose, the Keaton's were able to develop the Relocation Guide brand in various markets, including Metro Detroit, Indianapolis and Colorado Springs. They also owned similar publications in Cleveland and Atlanta (The Relocation Guide brand exists in various cities across America). Although Charles and Barbara have since retired (2004), Keaton Publications Group remains a family owned business.
The Present
The daily operations of KPG have been passed to Lawrence Ribits (Son-In-Law and Publisher) and his son, Jason Ribits (VP of Sales and Operations). As they implement new ideas for growth, they remain committed to improving the quality already associated with their current products. One of which being, the Colorado Springs Relocation Guide.
Keaton Publications Group has owned, and published, the Colorado Springs Relocation Guide for the past 12 years. Our current Issue, The 2007-08 Colorado Springs Relocation Guide, was released in June. It remains the definitive source of relocation information for Colorado Springs, as well as a useful resource for area residents, businesses and community/economic organizations. Constant improvements to design, content, online resources, business partnerships and distribution, over the past three years, have insured this fact. As the hard work continues, KPG has layed the foundation for the next challenge, and hopefully another 42 years of success!
The Future
With a growing audience and new applications model, KPG has decided that this past issue will be our last....as the "Relocation Guide". With our 2008-09 Issue, set for publication in May 2008, we'll be changing our brand name to Colorado Springs Asource - Area Information for Residents, Relocation and Business. This change will better serve, not only our users and advertisers, but also our content. As a true area guide, Asource can be applied to many demographics outside relocation. Although we'll always serve this niche market, we believe our product can be used mainstream - providing the same, useful and concise, content to existing residents or business wanting information about their community. In Print or Online.
As part of our new branding we'll be implementing some exciting new features, including a Direct Mail Component that will serve those residences, in El Paso county, with an Annual Household Income of 100K. Over 15,000 households will be part of our initial mailing! We'll also be continuing our valued partnerships with such organizations as the Colorado Springs Downtown Partnership, Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce, Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau, Colorado Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau and ALL four Military Installations in the Colorado Springs area. These partnerships help us reach the new/existing residents and businesses of Colorado Springs while developing a solid network of "Business to Business" relationships. In all we'll be increasing our total distribution to well over 30,000 copies, reaching our traditional relocation market (17,000 copies), area residents (15,000+) and more! Lastly, we'll be providing some new content, articles, etc. to spice up our overall presentation while complementing our longstanding "nuts and bolts" information. All said, we're pretty excited!

Best Regards,
The KPG Family
