Municipal Courts

This court is not a court of record, which means the proceedings are not tape recorded. If a trial is lost and appealed to the district court, defendant is entitled to trial de novo, all new evidence and new trial.
Water Court
Colorado has seven water courts, one in each of the major river basins. They are a division of district court. Water court has exclusive jurisdiction over water rights, usage and litigation. There are no jury trials and all appeals are filed directly with the Colorado Supreme Court.
