Academy School District 20 in northern Colorado Springsis a fast-growing, high-achieving district where families have awide variety of educational choices.

District 20 offers the International Baccalaureate program at elementary, middle and high school levels. Every elementaryschool teaches a world language such as Spanish, French orMandarin Chinese. There are programs for students who needa non-traditional education setting and opportunities for students in a wide variety of co-curricular activities.
District 20 recently opened the high school portion of our pre-K through 12th grade campus – Discovery Canyon Campus.

This unique school is located in Flying Horse Ranch and it has aunique focus on math, science, aviation and space exploration. Two new elementary schools opened in August 2007. Ranch Creek Elementary is located in the Wolf Ranch Development. Chinook Trail Elementary School is located in the Cordera Development. Both are east of Powers Boulevard on theeast side of District 20.

District 20 supports more than 21,000 students and consistently ranks among the top three districts in the state at everygrade level on each ofthe Colorado StudentAssessment Programtests when compared todistricts of more than 6,000 students. District 20 has also been named among the nation’s Best 100 Communities for Music Education.

Fountain-Fort Carson School District Eight is the premiere school district serving the Fountain and Fort Carson communities. The district is recognized by the governor and districtsacross the state as a leader in maximizing learning and studentachievement. Colorado’s state board of education refers to District Eight as a model for lowering the achievement gap forminority students and low socio-economic youngsters.

Located just south of Colorado Springs, Fountain is growing community with a small-town feel. In 2002, Fountain was named the All-America City due to its plan for growth, its communitycenter’s outreach and its youth programs.

Fountain is also home to District Eight’s award-winning andnationally recognized schools – seven in town and four on the Mountain Post – many which have been built or remodeled inthe past seven years. A new elementary school in the Cumberland Green development will open in August 2007. (Estimated2007-2008 student body: 6,500)

With over 65 schools, District 11 serves students with individualized programs designed to meet their specific needs.

District 11 has International Baccalaureate programs at the elementary, middle and high school levels, CORE Knowledge, Advanced Placement, Gifted and Talented, Career and Technology Education and the only public Montessori program for elementary students in the region.

Falcon School District #49 began as a small rural district on the eastern plains in the late 1800’s. It currently is one of the most rapidly growing districts in the state, covering approximately 133 square miles. Since 1973, the district has grown from one K-12 school with 250 students to a district with projected enrollment for 2007 of 13,000 students. The total K-12 student enrollment is projected to grow 700 students per year. The district currently has two high schools; Falcon High School and Sand Creek High School. Three middle schools; Falcon Middle School, Horizon Middle School, and Skyview Middle School that address the educational needs of our 6th-8th grade students. Elementary students attend one of nine elementary schools: Falcon , Evans, Stetson, Remington, Springs Ranch, Meridian Ranch, Odyssey, Woodmen Hills, Ridgeview. Included in the district are three Charter Schools (K-8) and one secondary alternative school. Our highly qualified staff offers each of the students the opportunity to achieve educational excellence.

Southeast of Colorado Springs and contiguous to Fort Carson, Widefield School Dis trict 3 is proud of its 133year history of providing a world-class preschool through 12th grade education. Approximately 52,000 people live
in the district’s 59 square miles.

Widefield is the only school district in the state that operates a park and recreation district. Widefield, home to 8,600 students, serves a thriving, growing community and is extremely proud to be military family friendly. Among Wide field’s features are full-day kinder garten; before- and after-school child care at all elementary schools; expanded advanced placement and honors curriculum; three focus schools- (Core Knowledge/foreign language focus, math and science focus, and visual and performing arts focus); a variety of vocational options; some of the finest music programs in the state; athletics; wireless technology network; Junior ROTC programs; a free outdoor education program for all sixth-graders; and
