Cripple Creek & Victor Map of Cripple Creek/Victor

Cripple Creek started life as an old west gold town. Offering a hard life with a slim chance to make it rich, the town was built on the sweat and dreams of rugged individuals. Modern Cripple Creek still offers the dream to strike it rich. Casino gambling is the new “source” of gold. Happily, Cripple Creek approached gambling in a way that did not overwhelm the community. The casinos have been integrated into the old west gold town look of Cripple Creek. There are also many activities outside the casinos that a family can enjoy, including re-enactments of old west gunfights, museums and mine tours that bring the gold field days back to life, a number of theater groups and the ever-present artist colony. With the Rocky Mountains everywhere you turn, it’s hard to believe anyone would go indoors in the first place. Cripple Creek is a community that deserves to be discovered.
