Divide is about seven miles west of Woodland Park and sits atop Ute Pass at 9,280 feet. Named Divide because water run-off divided to the north, south east and west at this point, Divide has played important roles in the history of train travel and that of the Colorado gold fields. Located at the entrance of Mueller State Park visitors to and residents of Divide take full advantage of the park’s many trails and the abundant wildlife to discover and watch. Divide offers a wide variety of homes – log cabins built right into the mountains, farms with stalls and thousands of acres and newer homes in exclusive gated communities are just some of the choices available. A small but active cham- ber of commerce works tirelessly to promote commercial and residential development while maintaining the pristine quality of life enjoyed by all.
