All too often, very talented citizens answer “yes” to these questions, but may not have the knowledge, skills, or insights to reach their full potential toaffect change in our community. For over 30 years,Leadership Pikes Peak (LPP) has been the premierecommunity leadership organization in the Pikes Peakregion. Over 1,000 LPP graduates are working to makeour community a wonderful place to live, work, and play; they include prominent community leaders, nonprofit organizations, elected officials, board members and volunteers in virtually all of the Pikes Peak region. LPP is the gateway to community engagement. The organization’s passion is fostering the vision and courage of citizens to lead. It’s purpose is helping individuals make the world a better place in their own unique ways. It’s focus is developing community trustees and facilitating their enduring contributions. To this end, LPP offers a wide range of community leadership programs to meet the diverse needs of the Pikes Peak region to create a leader-full community. The Leadership Pikes Peak Signature Program targets established and emerging community leaders. Over ten months (including 14 full days), participants explore the history of our region, education, criminal justice, human services, business & economy,
environment, local government, public safety, arts and culture. Participants enjoy hands-on experiences and “up close and personal” site visits while they learn about the issues, challenges and opportunities Colorado Springs faces today and in the future. Upon completion, Signature Program participants are
recognized as "community trustees," or citizens who understand the issues and opportunities that face our community, have exhibited leadership skills, and take responsibility for, as well as play an active role in, shaping our community.

Leadership Pikes Peak’s Women’s CommunityLeadership Initiative (WCLI) educates and empowers women with diverse backgrounds to develop a deeper awareness of their potential to make a difference and become productive contributors to their community. WCLI invests in women of modest means, many of whom have overcome significant hurdles in their lives. During twelve evening sessions, participants gain a broader, deeper knowledge of their community, how it functions, and how they can become involved. This, paired with professional development skills, empowers these women to take on new roles in our community.
