Beginning as a 32-bed hospital in 1904, Memorial Hospital has grown into Memorial Health System, a premier health system in southern Colorado. Memorial Hospital Central is located near the heart of Colorado Springs at 1400 E. Boulder and is represented by approximately 4,000 employees, 800 physicians, and over 1,000 volunteers. To meet the health care needs of residents in northern Colorado Spring and El Paso County, Memorial opened Memorial Hospital North
in Briargate. Memorial Hospital North is a 98-bed hospital with a full
range of diagnostic and treatment services including surgery,
emergency, labor and delivery, as well as a variety of inpatient and
outpatient services. Memorial Hospital North is approximately 224,000
square feet and opened in April 2007. As the population ages,
having a healthy heart becomes priority. Heart disease is the leading
cause of death among Americans. Memorial Hospital Central was recently
rated as one of Solucient’s top 100 cardiovascular hospitals in the
nation for the 3rd time and in the top 10 percent in the nation for
open-heart surgery by HeathGrades. Memorial offers a wide range of
services to treat heart disease and other related conditions such as
cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, open-heart surgery and
pediatric heart care.
At Memorial, rehabilitation has a primary emphasis on helping patients reach their maximum independence in living skills, mobility, and communication. Our program provides inpatient medical rehabilitation to complement the acute care and outpatient tient services offered to our patients. The focus is to provide a comprehensive rehabilitation program for those who have suffered from a condition such as a stroke, brain or spinal cord injury, fractures, orthopedic disorders or other trauma.
Memorial’s Cancer Center combines the latest technology with an experienced and compassionate staff to provide our patients with comprehensive care that touches the mind, body, and spirit. Memorial Hospital Central has recently added Dr. Dax Kurbegov, a medical oncologist, to the team of doctors. Dr. Kurbegov provides state of the art, research focused, multidisciplinary cancer care.
