Colorado Springs Pre-Schools, Child Care
Day
care centers and licensed day care homes are subject to regulations
established by the Colorado State Department of Social Services. Each
home day care provider is required to attend training
courses that teach child growth and nutrition. All homes must meet
certain safety standards, and providers are en couraged to conduct
their day care home in a business like manner. Additionally, a child
abuse and background check are completed on every person 18 years+
older who lives or works in a home providing child care. Smoking is not
allowed with children present. Day care centers have additional
requirements including group size, child to staff ratios and staff
