Aspen
The very name has come to mean exclusivity, class and fun. Aspen has earned the reputation as a jet set retreat and watering hole. Aspen Highlands’ new “Deep Temerity” lift offers access to the steepest terrain in Colorado. Known for its “freestyle Fridays.”
Breckenridge
This historic “Old West” town has become the ation’s second most visited ski resort. It is the closest major ski area to Colorado Springs. This is the ideal spot for be ginning and intermediate skiers with miles of easy to moderate slopes across three mountains. The quad lift reaches Peak 8 at 12,840 feet.
Copper Mountain
Copper Mountain is a perfect family entertainment resort, constantly rated as one of the top terrain parks in the U.S. Obviously the 125 trails, free snowcat access and the best snowboard run in Summit County add to the popularity.
Durango Mountain Resort
Purgatory Mountain offers all forms of lessons and winter recreation (from snowshoeing to snowcat skiing). Popular with families, this one base village allows everyone to keep track of each other. The City of Durango is adjacent to the Four Corners Region. Designated a National Historic District, it looks as it did 100 years ago, complete with hotel, train station and saloon.
Howelsen Hill
The oldest ski area in Colorado, known for its large natural ski jumps. With amazing scen ery, it is a great place for those looking for a smaller place. Run by the City of Steamboat Springs, CO.
Keystone
At Keystone you get three mountains on one lift ticket: groomed skiing on Keystone Mountain; challenging intermediate and advanced runs on North Peak; and fabulous powder skiing above the timberline at Arapahoe Basin. The new Inde pen dence Bowl offers 300 acres of expert only hiking and snowcat ski/ride terrain.
Loveland
Located entirely within the Arapahoe National Forest, this is a traditional, no frills ski resort located n top of the Continental Divide with an elevation of 13,010 feet. No lift lines, free parking, with the highest chair lift in the world.
Monarch
Located on the Continental Divide in the vast San Isabel National Forest, Monarch offers an incredible view with one of the most abundant snowfalls in the state...over 350 inches a year.
Powderhorn
In the 1940s skiing began here with a rope tow. Powderhorn is located on the slopes of a Grand Mesa covered with pine, aspen and mountain lakes.
Located east of Grand Junction, Pow der horn is family-friendly. Cross-country skiing and snowmobiling opportunities are available on the top of the mesa.
Snowmass
Adjacent to Aspen, Snowmass ex hibits mountainous expanses and a playing field that goes on forever. Twelve miles from Aspen, 95% of the lodging is right on the mountain. Dog sled rides and snowshoe tours are also available.
Sol Vista
Sol Vista has two separate interconnected moun tains, terrain for all levels and they are big on teaching all ages while still offering full-service resort
amenities.
Steamboat
Located 7,000 feet up in the Rockies, Steam -boat’s six peaks allow for groomed cruising, tree skiing, moguls and meadows. Maverick is North America’s longest superpipe. The small western town is a mix of sophisticated Stetsons and family programs have been rated best in the west.
Taos
While located in New Mexico, Taos is still a popular destination for Colorado skiers. With 305 inches of snow and 300+ days of sun annually, the resort boasts a top-notch ski school, terrain park, teen center and evening activities. It is a classic Alpine run venue (no snowboarding).
Telluride

Vail & Beaver Creek
Vail is the largest ski mountain in North Amer ica offering 174 trails, a 4.5 mile run, back bowls catering to the experts, snowboarding and heli-skiing as well. Beaver Creek is the nation’s most luxurious resort area, but don’t let that fool you. It hosts the U.S.’ only Annual World Cup Event (Birds of Prey) and steep gladed, back country Stone Creek chutes.
