Ute Pass Region                                         Map of Ute Pass Region

Ute Pass has long been the gateway to the natural wonders of the Rocky Mountains. The Ute Indians used the pass for hundreds of years on their treks from the mountains to the plains. In 1882, a wagon route was established and five years later the Midland Railroad opened access to the Cripple Creek gold fields.

Today, Ute Pass is the gateway for Colorado Springs residents and visitors to experience hiking, camping, horseback riding and mountain biking in the Teller County wilderness. With Pike National Forest as a community playground and wonderful neighborhoods nestled in the rocky foothills, Ute Pass beckons those who seek a different type of lifestyle.

Cascade, Chipita Park &
Green Mountain Falls

The three Ute Pass communities of Cascade, Chipita Park and Green Mountain Falls stretch through the pass between Colorado Springs and Woodland Park. Historically, these communities were the sites for summer homes and grand hotels for those desiring cool weather, grand vistas and the tranquil beauty of mountain settings. They also served as way stations and watering stops for stagecoaches and the railroad. Today these communities provide the perfect get away for those who desire something off the beaten path, but want accessibility to all the goods and services anyone would ever desire. Sleek contemporary homes share space with rustic homesteads in breathtaking mountain settings. The award winning schools of Manitou Springs School District 14 serve the area and all types of outdoor sports and activities are just out your back door!
